We travelled to Kenya in Sept-Oct 25 as part of Dr. Vyas’s team for an African Safari. Let me tell you that it was one of the most exhilarating and memorable experiences of my life. Africa is amazing no doubt but what makes it more amazing is Dr. Vyas’s professionalism, passion and attention to detail. Right from planning the itinerary, the booking process, visas, meal preferences, transportation, accommodation and many more such intricacies Dr. Vyas was totally involved and invested. Coming to the main reason of travelling there i.e.. sightings. Dr. Vyas makes sure that you see everything that’s there to be seen including rare sightings, hunts, etc while giving you valuable insights about the wildlife and their behaviour. What an exhilarating and mesmerising trip Kenya was — truly the adventure of a lifetime! From the moment we landed until the time we reluctantly said goodbye, everything was flawlessly organised. A huge thank you to Dr. Vyas for curating such a seamless, enjoyable, and unforgettable experience.

Accommodation:
The resorts at Naivasha, Nakuru, and Mara were absolutely splendid — spacious rooms, breathtaking views, friendly staff, and delicious cuisine made every stay memorable. Waking up to zebras grazing right outside your room was nothing short of surreal!

Food:
Every meal was thoughtfully planned to suit both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The blend of local and Indian flavours, the variety, and the attention to individual preferences were remarkable. Dining in the middle of the Mara, surrounded by birds and wildlife, was an experience unlike any other.

Safari:
The highlight of the trip — and the reason we came — exceeded every expectation. The abundance of wildlife was jaw-dropping, and the opportunity to observe the big cats up close was magical. Watching lions, cheetahs, leopards, rhinos, and elephants in their natural habitat was humbling and awe-inspiring. We were even lucky enough to witness a cheetah hunt — a truly thrilling and once-in-a-lifetime sight! Being amidst nature’s raw beauty was deeply therapeutic and grounding.

Photography:
For photographers, both amateur and professional, the Mara is paradise. You simply can’t get enough! Dr. Vyas’s passion for photography is infectious — his insights and tips are invaluable and guaranteed to elevate your skills. This was my first trip with Vyas Sir. Every detail regarding the trip was meticulously planned. From dietary preferences to staying at a super luxurious matla lodge.

Vyas Sir spent time with all participants everyday of the trip where he passed on tips and tricks of photography. His advise and guidance was catered to each participants skill level.

The part of the trip that I most enjoyed was the guidance in field, where every time we looked at a subject, Sir encouraged us to experiment and make use of his knowledge so that we learnt new skills on the trip.

It was truly a wonderful experience at Madikwe and Matla Lodge. The lodge, set in an exclusive location amidst the jungle with a strategically placed pond, offered the rare privilege of watching wild animals come to drink and feed. We thoroughly enjoyed the artistically decorated, cozy, and comfortable lodge, which gave us breathtaking views of elephants, zebras, impalas, rhinoceroses, wild boars, and a variety of birds.

The food was absolutely delicious, and the cooks went out of their way to prepare a delightful variety of interesting dishes. The daily jungle safaris were equally thrilling—we were fortunate to witness lions and cheetahs in their natural habitat, engaged in activities like hunting, feeding, mating, resting, and even playing. Watching the cubs frolic and tease each other was an unforgettable treat.

Last but not least, we remain especially grateful to Dr. Vyas for sharing his valuable photography tips, which made this journey even more memorable.

Good morning! Just completed an incredible three-day wildlife safari in Tadoba, spotting 15 tigers and a leopard, along with spotted deer, sambar deer, Indian gaur, barking deer, wild dogs, various birds, and alligators. The wildlife experience was unique—tough, hot, humid, and dusty, with no AC in the open jeeps, but absolutely rewarding. I dabbled in photography, though the thrill of the safari outshone the camera for me, unlike many others focused on capturing the perfect shot.
Traveling with strangers—doctors, speaking Hindi or Marathi ,less in English—offered a fresh perspective on life’s diversity. Observing wildlife, like waiting three hours to watch a mother tiger and her three cubs emerge from water, felt like a blend of monk-like patience and action-hero adrenaline. The sight of them leaping out was unforgettable.
The routine was grueling: waking at 4:15 AM, leaving by 5:00 AM, reaching the gate by 5:45 AM, and returning by 11:00 AM. After lunch, a shower, and photography lessons, we’d head out again from 2:45 PM to 7:30 PM. No phones, no TV—just the hot sun, an open jeep, and solitude. It’s not for the faint-hearted or luxury seekers; it’s physically demanding yet deeply fulfilling.
As a first-timer, I was lucky to see so much, a record according to Vyas, the orthodontist who organized the safari. I gained a deeper appreciation for the tribal drivers and guides, who value even a 100-rupee note, teaching me profound lessons about life.
I’m thrilled to have embraced this adventure and grateful for the glimpse into another world. My next trip is to Tanzania in February, an even more intense journey to see lions in their habitat, .

Recently I went for Tanzania safari with Matrishva Sir. I am extremely overwhelmed by his sincere effort to make this safari a memorable experience for all of us. Our stay , specially in bush camp in Ndutu, offered me a new and fascinating experience. He is a very good photographic mentor and always helpful. Even being a non- photographer, I truly enjoyed the safari and would love to go with him again in future.

There were seven participants on this photography tour mentored by Matrishva Sir. It was a memorable experience for us all. Since this was a photography tour, first about photography. The mentoring was excellent from start to finish. Matrishva Sir spared no efforts in briefing us on the first night before the safaris started, to guiding us till the end on the use of light, framing, basic rules of photography, and how to make the best use of a given situation. It was a hands-on mentoring tour. The vehicles were always positioned to give the best photo opportunities, and we were always reminded when to shoot eye level, and when to go on top!
Apart from the photography aspect, Matrishva Sir was always attentive to our everyday needs and took into account our individual requirements. Overall, a satisfying experience from every aspect.

Answered all our curiosities with consideration.But what stood out most was his passion, he shared our excitement and took every effort to ensure we saw Kenya’s wildlife up close and personal. Each day felt like an adventure and he kept it fresh and light.

Throughout the trip, we were met with warmth, kindness, and genuine hospitality from everyone we encountered. We visited Masai Mara in November 2023 as a group of 12 people and it was a custom tour organized by Dr. Vyas. The entire experience was brilliant. He worked with us patiently in helping finalize our itinerary details, clarifying our queries. Before we departed, there was a meticulous set of preparatory list of things to do shared. During the tour, every single place we visited and experienced was exactly as specified and committed during the planning stage and specified in the itinerary. Planning was meticulous and executed with precision and perfection. For any serious amateur photographer, they must undergo at least one safari in his group to get the real picture of how much your photography potential’s can be achieved in toto. All doubts are answered even before asking for it. The camaraderie and dedication is seen to be believed. The guides, accommodation and food are all one the very best and most importantly lots of behind the scenes activities help in make it most cost effective. Ideally Madikwe on your own will burn a big hole in your pocket. Now coming to safaris, they very regulated by authorities so that no crowding or disturbances are encountered to the wildlife. Only hassle is only brief timeline is there to shoot at important or rare animals because of Que system for ALL JEEPS. Matla game lodge is big and animal density is spread out and hence luck is required in plenty like any other safaris. Our group had exclusive accommodation hence fantastic sighting at the water hole including Serval cats and male lions were encountered. Our Guides James Gradwell and Lazarus Mmpultani were top notch. We got see the elusive Brown Hyenas too. My maiden African Safari experience in this group is priceless and very glad that I was accepted into this fantastic mixture of physicians, surgeons and Orthodontists. It’s dream come true for me. Mahatma Gandhi once said best description of sugar is possible only on tasting it, likewise Wildlife safari with Matrishva Vyas is best experienced by joining his team. You will never regret it. Worth every INR. If opportunity presents itself again I would just do it all over again. The whole program was very well organized. The Matla game resort was exclusively booked for our group. The arrangements were excellent. The safaris were wonderfully organized with very good sightings by James and Lazi. Overall everything was taken care of by Dr. Matrishva with excellent photography tutorials and guidance. My third visit to Madikwe with Dr. Matrishva, that says all.

I am very impressed by Dr Vyas’s in depth knowledge of photography. His passion, enthusiasm and skill, both for photography and instruction are outstanding and contagious! He is an excellent instructor and is eager and happy to instruct and guide you both during active shooting, traveling in the vehicle and after hours! including post processing skills.

Moreover, Dr. Matrishva is easy going, light hearted, respectful and very professional. Both Christopher and I enjoyed ourselves immensely. The atmosphere through out the trip was very congenial, relaxed and jocular. It felt like being with family and friends!

Dr Vyas planned and arranged this tour for four of us.We stayed at the Reto bush camp for three days. The facility is very well managed. Clean, spacious, with attentive service. It felt like home. The chef would prepare our dishes of choice everyday. Sam with his ever present smile, Chris with his knowledge of the masai customs, and Benson… a wonderful tour guide who never tired of showing us the animals.. from morning till night. Benson obviously loves animals and that reflects in his work ethic. We were regaled by a masai dance by the evening fire. Great experience.

it’s a very great experience to attend the 2 days workshop conducted in SCBDCH, Cuttack on clinical photography in which Dr. Vyas Sir has guided us about the extra oral and intraoral clinical photography in a tremendous n simple way by giving live examples, demonstrating each n every view by adjusting different parameters..so it becomes interesting n easy to click every shot in an innovative way…. I wish that every institute should conduct such type of workshops so that Doctors should recognize minute errors which can change the whole diagnosis n treatment plan…. I must share a feedback about @Matrishva Vyas Clinical photography course which I have joined last month…

Trust me it is one of the best course I have attended so far, very practical points to implement, pure dedication by Dr Vyas to each participant’s smallest of query and to solve it, going slowly for the ease of participants and not in a hurry to finish the course, and I was doing clinical photography myself with Dslr but after this course I got almost 6-10 points new which I could easily incorporate in my clinical setup and which helped me immensely to improve my clinical photography skills…

“I just finished a 2 day, tiger spotting safari at Tadoba. The trip was extremely well organized and educational, in more than one way. I hope my review does justice to this amazing trip.

We went along with Matrishva Uncle, as a family of 3, my dad, my 14 year old brother and me. The entire trip was jovial with uncle’s company and educational with the deep knowledge on wildlife that we were exposed to. We had so many things to learn, view and enjoy as a family. The stay was well organised and the safari itself was exceptional. We were taken to spots which were guaranteed hotspots for tiger spotting and it was worth the long waiting hours. Patience is a virtue and I’m glad I learn a lot about this important aspect in life.

Spotting 6 tigers in 2 days is something special for me. I learnt quite a bit of basic knowledge on how to use my DSLR camera too. Personally, I was always learning something new, be it about the wildlife habitat or about the camera work too. Hands down, it has been one of my best wildlife experiences and has kindled an amateur shutterbug in me. I hope to take forward my learnings and make my photography skills better too. Overall, we were well cared for and extremely happy that we got to experience something this wonderful. I hope to do more such trips in the future!”
